I am here to tell you about a fabulous, magical place called The Lunch Bucket. Seriously. The food is going to kill me eventually, but it's so good and so cheap.
It's got about four tables, a counter to order at, and you can see into the kitchen. The cook is usually standing about waiting for people to order something. The menu is mostly sandwiches, burgers, and fries, but it also has a neat little Hawaiian food section. (Kalua pig? Yeah, it's amazing.)
Boyfriend and I have gone there an average of once a week since we found it about five months ago. Everyone who works there knows us. We usually get a burrito (and here you're thinking, a burrito? How weird to serve Mexican food at this place. But no!), which is filled with potatoes and your choice of meat (fuckin' bacon, man), cheese, onions, and sour cream. And it weighs a pound. Seriously. It's bigger than my face. And it's only four dollars!

My other favorite meal is the crazy cheeseburger. Why crazy, you ask? Because it's like a cheeseburger had a one night stand with the best grilled cheese you've ever had. It's a cheeseburger, with a bun and lettuce and tomato and all that, but he melts copious mountains of cheese on the patty and lets it overflow onto the grill, frying the outside of the cheese into a delicious crispy halo of artery-clogging magic. The cheese goes a few inches outside the bun.
| Ho yeah. |
It's amazing.
So there you have it. Go forth and patronize the Lunch Bucket, because if they go out of business then nothing will ever be right in the world again.
Best. Food. Ever.
ReplyDeleteI've been going since they opened since I live less than a five minute walk away. Just had their teriyaki burger yesterday. AMAZING.
Don't worry girls, I fed your fish. :P
ReplyDeleteOn another note, that borrito reminds me of the ones you get at casa que pasa here in Bellingham. Maybe I'll have to blog about them. :)
Omg, did you know this is a chain? We have one too!!

ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that the two of you discovered that you live in the same city over a comment thread about a restaurant. TOO HILARIOUS.
